Kinesiology

History of Kinesiology

Kinesiology is a gentle, non invasive therapy that can be used to treat virtually all types of problems. Kinesiology as we know it today, was originally developed by Dr. George Goodheart and fellow chiropractors in the 1960's in California. In 1970, Dr. John Thie extracted some Applied Kinesiology techniques and created Touch for Health. From the foundation of Dr. Thies work, additional techniques were developed by other pioneers in the field, such as John Barton.

Today, Kinesiologh is one of the most holistic of the complementary therapies available, as it addresses the person from the emotional/mental, nutritional and structural levels. Kinesiology bridges Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) with the science and art of western muscle testing, anatomy, physiology, emotional healing modalities and nutrition.

By utilizing muscle responses as a means of bio-feedback, Kinesiology is unmatched in its ability to detect imbalances in the body, prioritize these imbalances and discover the best way to stimulate the bodies natural healing processes. Muscle testing allows access to the vast innate intelligence of the body-mind system of the person being treated.Kinesiology always treats the root cause of the problem.

Balance is restored by:

  • Correcting nutritional deficiencies and excess
  • Correcting structural imbalances of the muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia
  • Eliminating toxins
  • Balancing emotions
  • Eliminating negative belief patterns and imprinting positive, life-affirming beliefs in their place

During a Kinesiology balance, a wide variety of techniques can be utilized including:

  • Biokinetic exercises
  • Reactive muscles
  • Golgi tendon
  • Spindle cells
  • Lymphatic drainage
  • Food/ substance sensitivity and intolerance corrections
  • Neurolymphatic reflexes
  • Neurovascular reflexes
  • Meridian holding points
  • Nutritional reflexes
  • Brain integration
  • Emotional stress release
  • Meridian tapping(EFT)
